So England are out of the World Cup again... whats new there. Lets be completely honest, they didnt really stand a chance from the outset, and yet the England fans fooled themselves into thinking that we may just do it this time. Whatever!
I think its just cool these days to be an England fan and to wave your biggest, brightest flag from the highest point, whilst shouting "Ennglaand!" like some kind of viking charge. Fact is, you can wave as many flags as you like and you can shout as loud as you like.... we simply dont have the talent to win. We havent had the required talent for the last 40 years, so why should this year be any different. Ok, lets go all patriotic and kid ourselves into thinking we will win this year.... now lets be realistic and face the fact: We just arent good enough. Knock me for being honest if you like, but if you are being completely honest, by thinking England may win again, you are just towing the line with the rest of the believers out there, that raise their red and white painted heads every 4 years.

Personally, im a realist. Like me or hate me, the fact is that im right. You may try to cover up the fact that England are shite with all your excuses and false beliefs, but lets see you put your money where your mouth is. Call yourself a REAL fan? Do you HONESTLY believe they would have won this year? Then go and mortage your house and bet the money on them..... now i bet you dont believe THAT much do you? Thought not. Because deep down you want to believe we could have won... but in your heart of hearts, you know the truth. We are not good enough.
The problem with our players are this: They are overpaid, over rated, self important novices. You put our players together in the UK and yes, of course, they are the best players. You've got your Beckham's, your Rooney's, your Owen's.... but where are they when you drop them into a worldwide arena? They are VERY little fish in a very big sea and their image suddenly just doesnt cut it anymore. In other words, they are the best of a bad bunch.
Now that they are out, of course, it will be everybodies fault, other than the players. It will be the managers fault, the crowds fault, the position of the sun, the opposing team... you name it and we will blame it. Anything, rather than admit we lost and the best team won. Its almost as predictable as the inevitable tears on the pitch after getting beaten. But you never heard them blaming anybody BEFORE they were knocked out. No, of course not, because they were too busy wandering around their local town centre waving their big flags shouting. The fact is, England are just bad losers. When they are doing well, everything is great. the manager has done a good job, the team are excellent, the crowd are fantastic..... but when they get beaten, watch all that turn! The manager is a waste of space, its his fault! Its the weather, its the pitch, its the sun, its the moon..... because of course it cant be that England were beaten fair and square... of course not!
So now they are home, the stories are emerging... Rooneys team mate, Ronaldo, is to blame. Its his fault. Its not Rooneys fault that he is a common thug and cant wait to dive into somebody and stamp on them. Oh no! It must be Ronaldo's fault because his crime was to be honest and say that it was a foul, and deserved a red card (which it did!). Now, good old noble England likes fair play doesnt it? If i walked down the road and launched into a violent attack on somebody, I would be condemned and the country as a whole would be disgusted with me and wave its "all knowing, self righteous" finger at me and tell me what a horrible, violent individual i was. But Rooney kicks somebody in the groin and thats ok... its Ronaldo at fault, because he dared to point it out. And of course, he wasnt supposed to say anything about this, because he and Rooney play on the same team back in the UK. So? The point is? He is supposed to behave differently just because of that?
Could we possibly be suggesting that England expected Ronaldo to just go against what he firmly believed, just because it suited their own cause? Tut tut tut! How naughty.... not wagging your "good old honest England" finger now are we! I think its disgusting that of the two "events"... Ronaldo is being made to be the bad guy, simply because he spoke his mind, while Rooney is being idolised because he's a thug. Do people REALLY forget all their morals just because it involves 11 over-paid footballers and a piece of grass? It seems so! I know which of the two events I think is more serious. Its almost like England as a country is condoning the violence. Comments from fellow team mates seem to prove the point. Take this quote from Steven Gerrard:
"Wayne Rooney won't get any blame from me because I love him and he's done so much for this team. He's also going to do so much for England in the future as well." ..... oh right!! So thats ok then!! Because Steven Gerrard happens to love him and thinks he done a lot for the team, he's blameless for his violence? Well, shouldnt he do so much for team? Hes paid over £100,000 a week, dont you think he should be doing a bit of good for his team? Its bloody ridiculous!
The facts are simple: England got beat... no cons, no cheating... they just got beat. Fans dont like to admit it, because it shatters their perfect little dream of England holding that cup in the air, but the fact remains that if they wanna win the cup, they need to play better. Its dead simple. You can analyse it to death, but its just the same outcome... we arent good enough. And of course, if we are likely to win in the future, no doubt the prima donna footballers will want even more money to fund their already "taking the piss" lifestyles. One thing you CAN be sure of is this.... if you are broke because you spent all your money travelling to Germany to follow your dream (and thats all it is!)... then try asking your favourite player for a small loan to get you back on your feet. Now thats something I would bet on... the answer would be "piss off!"
Fans eh? How naive!
