Second outing for the Liverpool duo descends into mood.

OMD - Organisation
Organisation

The second album to be released by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark titled "Organisation" was released on November 1st 1980. The second dabble into music for the Liverpool synth out-fit contains 9 tracks but do not think for a moment that because there only is 9 tracks that this album lacks content...far from it, each song is as equally ethereal as the next.

Opening with Enola Gay which was the only song to be released as a single, i think personally that its a shame because the eighth track called "Promise" is just as good a single as Enola gay was. Perhaps Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys had an argument as they sometimes did about lyrics.

Paul Humphreys was the vocalist on this song and i think its one of the best songs on the album. From the opening song about a World War 2 aircraft to the final song about an Oil Refinery!!, this album transports you too another time and place with its mysterious cover and moog mellotron melodies. The first time you hear the second song named "2nd thought" it will make you realise that the quality synths used on Enola Gay will be put to extremely good use through out the album giving an overall individually, personal feel to the album that they obviously wanted to share.

I'd give this album a rating of 8/10
