The Broken Heart E-mail
Written by Mini Moo
I open up my heart,
Each drop of blood crashes down on your ears,
Like waves on a rock,
Whisking you off your feet.
At least that how I wish it would be.
Instead, my heart hits the floor
And shatters into a million pieces,
Unnoticed, unheard, unfelt.
My life becomes a mime,
No-one hearing my pain,
Seeing only the movements of an empty soul,
Going through the motions
But never feeling life,
Never smelling the excitement, or
Breathing in the strength.
I fall to my knees,
Frantically trying to pick up the pieces
Of my shattered heart.
But it's no use,
They're escaping.
Each piece,
Each memory,
Each tiny bit of love I ever felt,
Diminishing,
Vanishing without a trace
In front of my very own eyes.
But my eyes do not see,
Only memories of a distant life
Fill my vision.
I can feel myself imploding,
As if a vacuum
Has consumed my body and soul.
Inch by inch,
I begin to disappear.
Leaving no trace,
No sign
Of my long and lonely existence.
Then, I am gone.
