As if people in this country do not cause enough problems with alcohol fuelled stupidity, without the Government ruling that its a great idea to now open pubs 24 hours a day... what the fuck are they thinking??! On the grand scale of things, the opening of pubs all day is quite unimportant isn't it? Our country is on the brink of a recession, house prices are out the roof and people seem to be getting poorer and poorer.... yet good old Tony Blair deems 24hr drinking to be important enough to warrant the time it takes to wade through the red tape (aka our government) and make a decision on this. And if that's not bad enough, the decision he does make is a complete joke! Tell me... what benefits will be gained by opening pubs 24hrs a day? Apart from the pub owners and breweries getting even richer that is. I thought our good old government were committed to making Britain a place to be proud of? So how does a bunch of drunken louts wandering down the street, pissing in doorways, constitute a great example of British life? Or is this the way forward? If it is, then I'm buggering off overseas! I honestly see no benefit in these pubs being open 24hrs a day. If people cant cram enough down their necks in the 10 or so hours that pubs currently open for a day, then they need to rethink their lives a bit. What bugs me, is that the government has banned smoking in the vast majority of public places, they have whinged about binge drinking and the yob culture. They have had their little whine about date-rape, underage drinking, girls being taken advantage of whist drunk... so hang on a minute... WHAT THE FRIGGIN HELL ARE THEY THINKING??? Does it take an ordinary, working class person to spot the complete stupidity in their decision here? Are they all just so fucking thick that they cannot see common sense? Its a joke! How will opening pubs for longer help to stop excessive drinking? Can you see my point? The governemt in this country are so far up their own arses that they cant even see common sense! Of course, Mr Blair and his over paid bunch of monkeys live in quaint little areas, with armed police guards and cordoned off streets, so naturally, they wont have yobs pissing in their doorway.. so thats ok then. Why dont these arseholes, that we call out government, try living an ordinary persons life for about 3 months of each year, so they can make informed decisions as opposed to just sitting talking bollocks all day and then retiring to their cosy home life, complete with armed guards, alarm systems and other untold security measures. How these people ever get into power is beyond me. In some countries, these sort of decisions will have sparked a revolution... but not in good old Britain, because although we like to moan and grumble, we allow it to happen. At least I feel im doing my bit by saying my bit here... which is more than most people can be arsed to do. We cant really complain when we keep letting these prats run our country for us. We should have ousted them out of power ages ago. One thing about France, despite the UK hating them... they do have the balls to stand up for what they believe in... and their government knows they cant push the people too far, or they will strike, picket and generally dispute it. Over here, our government knows we will moan and grumble, but then 1 week later, its all passed over and our life has just been made a tiny bit shitter, but nobody cares.
