Maybe there is a God after all?, or how I came twice. It was a Sunday morning. Early on a Sunday morning, or very late on a Saturday night, you know that time where the two days blur. I was driving in London, and this car came up behind me… flash flash flash honk honk honk… this driver obviously wanted to get past me. He was right on my bumper. When this happens, I like to slow down and make it hard for the bastard to over take me. He don’t intimidate me! So I was going slower and slower, he was now soo close his headlights were obscured.
Eventually he managed to get past me, tearing past on the wrong side of a traffic island, laughing at me, and he seemed to be waving his hand at me as well!! Anyways off he goes, and that would be the last I saw of him I thought. A few minutes later I came up to some red lights, 4th in the queue, and the 2nd car in the queue was, you guessed it, my friend. He was revving his engine, but surprisingly this had little effect on the traffic lights. They stubbornly stayed red. Ha ha I thought and smiled to myself. There were now no cars going through the green light in the other direction, and my friend decided enough was enough, he would wait no longer. He pulled out from 2nd place, and sped through the red light, on his way again. Now these things make me mad. Why should we have to sit there being good, obeying the Highway Code, when you get jerks like that, who do wtf they like. It’s not on. It’s just not cricket, is it? Just as I was getting worked up, the car in front of me also pulled out and started to race through the red lights. Another jerk I thought. Then I noticed…. It was an unmarked police car – I felt so happy. There was justice. There was a God after all. This guys bad driving had made me the happiest I had been for ages. This was better than sex. Orgasmic! Well the happiest I had been for an hour or so anyway.. I forgot to mention it was still very late on a Saturday night for me :) Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |
Totally agree!! Written by Guest on 2005-11-11 12:07:36 I must say, the article by Rob about bad driving really made me happy too! The incident he described almost happened to me quite a few times but without the happy ending, meaning the prat's in the car's didn't get stopped in my cases. What a pity. I live somewhere in the UK and I can see the road from my kitchen window. I can also see the bend in the road, near where quite a few drivers insist on overtaking. They must have a death wish! But when the fatal accident or accidents happen, the people I will feel sorry for are the innocent ones that are travelling in the opposite direction. I mean, if the tossers that overtake near or on this bend only kill themselves, fair enough, its their right foot on the faster pedal, but if they take other people out whist doing so, in my personal opinion, that is a tragedy and a waste of life. I reckon most fatal accidents are caused by one factor, speed. If the government decided to impose a 30 MPH restriction on all uk roads for a 12 month period, I think the death toll would reduce dramatically. I also wonder why car manufacturers insist on making road cars capable of speeds exceeding 70MPH, what's the point, anything over that and your breaking the law. If people are in so much of a hurry, why don't they set out a bit earlier? Eeeeh, I don't know
