How can people hurt animals and not feel guilty? I know we eat animals and kill them for food, and thats something completely different, because if done legally and correctly, it should be done humanely. Im talking about people who willingly, and purposfully hurt animals just for fun or entertainment. With Bonfire Night just passed, no doubt all the idiots had their fun, strapping bangers onto cats and throwing fireworks at cows etc... as they do. What fun do they get out of this and how do they sleep at night, realising what they have done is completely inhumane? Perhaps they dont. Perhaps once they have done it, it doesnt even cross their minds again... which shows their level of intelligence and selfishness. I once saw a group of lads gathered around something, and they were all laughing and cheering etc. Being the curious person that I am, I wandered over to see what was going on. I was horrified to find they were gathered around a baby bird chick, and one of the lads was poised, standing on a wall, ready to jump on it. By the time I could step in and stop this horrible event, it was too late.... the lad jumped on the chicks head, crushing it. How can somebody just snub a life out so callously, whilst his mates jeer and laugh like a bunch of prats? With people like these walking our earth, it makes you wonder what the future holds. A life is just something of a joke to kids these days. They have no regard for life, unless its their own. Selfishness plays a massive part in todays society, and it shows no more, than at times like this. To be honest, I couldnt even hurt an animal willingly, let alone kill it. Even for humane reasons, it takes me all my time to kill animals. One of the worst experiences I ever had was having to kill a cat, which had been run over in the road. It was so badly injured, and suffering, that it was the only decent thing to do. But to draw up a piece of wood and crack it over the head, took me all my energy and will. I still think about it even now. My question would be this.... do you think that people who can just willingly kill this way, may possibly turn out to be future killers?
