Hold on, before you jump to conclusions, I'm not talking about that stuff you eat on Bonfire night that can't get out and about very well without crutches or a wheelchair. (Oh, it's Parkin that is isn't it...never mind, just humour me) No, I'm talking about those designated bays in car parks that are there just for people who, in a lot of cases, either can't walk, or if they can, can't walk far without discomfort or pain. | | Disabled? Are you really? |
Actually, this rant isn't really about disabled parking, it's more about those selfish, able bodied, lazy, bone idle, non disabled people who park in the disabled parking bays. I dont know about you, but when I go to a supermarket for example, and the only spaces available to park in are for the disabled, I go and find somewhere else to park, even if it means me walking quite a long way back to the store, and, to be honest, I dont mind doing that because I can walk and feel very grateful for it!
The people who those spaces are for are not disabled out of choice and it is their right to park in them. Im only guessing now, but I think if you asked anyone in a wheelchair if they would like to swap places with someone who can walk, I think we all know what the answer would be dont we??
