Why don’t they make today’s manuals clear? I’ve just upgraded my mobile phone – got a nice new Samsung Z500. Got everything I need – internet explorer, camera, alarm clock, check emails, oh yes even makes phone calls. Now with most techie things I am pretty savvy. Just press a few buttons and the thing does what I want it to. On the odd occasion when it’s not intuitive how to do something, a quick read of the manual will give the answer. Back to the Z500. It’s got short cut keys on it. They are supposed to make it easy for you to navigate straight to where you want to go to without loads of menus. Well that’s the theory. I worked out how to set the short keys up. All good stuff. That took a couple of mins. Easy peasy. Now the harder part – HTF (that’s how the fuck) do you use them? I tried and tried. Minutes passed, hours passed but could I get the feckers to work?I even tried the RTFM (read the fucking manual) trick, but nothing. What’s the point of having a manual when it doesn’t tell you how do what you want to do?? Only one option left - I had the embarrassment of having to go to a mobile phone shop and asking one of the new ‘phone trainers’ to train me how to use the soddng phone. At least the young smarmy ‘phone trainer’ git had to go and ask!
