Litter Litter Everywhere E-mail

Im no saint ( thats obvious I suppose, they only make dead people saints dont they....mind you, I could be writing this from beyond the grave... but Im not ) Anyway, I can't honestly remember dropping any litter, ever.

Why do some people do this though? I have a theory, I reckon it's to do with smokers! (another one of my pet hates) If a person is walking down the street with a small child and the person is smoking, what do they do with the cancer stick when they've finished with it? Most of them throw the thing on the ground.

This small child, when it see's this may think that when someone wants to get rid of something they've finished with it's ok to throw it on the floor. So maybe they grow up thinking this and do it themselves. I remember once driving through the town where I live only to see the bloke in the drivers seat throw a load of paper and rubbish out of the window and onto the road!!! I drove on about 10 yards, got out of my car, walked over to the morons car, bent down, picked up all his crap that he just threw out, said to him, "here, you've just dropped this" and threw it all over his lap. Guess what happened then....no I didnt end up in hospital (luckily).... he said "thank you"!

I live in a rural area, just outside a town and theres nothing worse (in my opinion) than seeing a load of fast food containers and similar stuff, lying about the road. I dont even like it in a town or city, let alone the countryside.

I think it makes anywhere look a mess and dirty. Also, whats the excuse for doing this.....err, none. Theres lots of litter bins about the place, we've all got pockets, if you're in your car, when you get home theres always a bin there. I wonder what visitors who come here from Japan or Switzerland or somewhere that have no tollerence towards dirty scum who drop litter think of us and our habits? No much, methinks.......
