Dont believe the nonesense the Government is feeding us... we are NOT struggling financially, and we are not paying too much tax. Well, thats what my local government would have you believe! The way it wastes money is absolutely unforgiveable! My local council has decided that despite the fact we all believe we pay too much in taxes, that every body in a whole street in our town deserves a brand new driveway installed... at the council's expense! We all know that anytime the council say "at our expense" they actually mean at OUR expense... thats right guys and girls... you and me are paying for it.
Now the very same council have been telling us for years that they cannot afford to repair all roads and pavements in the area. Why? Because they dont have enough money. Bullshit! They have more money than they know what to do with, and thats definate. Why else would they be able to afford to install driveways free for people? Its a luxury most of us have to pay for, yet not for this street. Its complete nonesense. And, before you accuse me of being jealous and bitter, you couldnt be further from the truth. You see, the thing with me is that I actually have a little pride (a rarity these days)...I dont like handouts and freebies. I like to feel like I have paid my way through life and worked hard to achieve what I own. Would be nice to be offered though, even if just to say "no thanks, id rather earn it". So if the country is in a mess, we have no money, the roads are in a state and pensions are dwindling... how can a local council justify to "the powers that be", that it needs to install a ruck of driveways free for people... some of which do not even own cars. Not only is it a joke, but when you actually sit and think about it, its not that funny a joke. We rely on these people to run our country, and thats actually pretty scary!
