Where are your lights? E-mail

Imagine the scene, there you are in your car, driving along at night, in town, and you decide that because the area's fairly well lit up, you'll turn off your lights to save a bit of electricity in your battery or some other strange reason. I bet it wont be long before you get stopped by the police informing you about your lack of lights and maybe even giving you a fine perhaps.

To be honest, if you knew you'd not got your lights on, you'd expect to get pulled up and told about it at least. Ok, here we go...... what about the mindless, ignorant, thick, gormless (and any other adjective you want to use that I cant think of) morons that ride about on their bikes at night with no lights on? Surley thats illegal isn't it?

I suppose if you want to argue you could say that in a well lit area such as an inner city or town they may be able to be seen without lights so they would be ok.(the arguement would'nt  work with me though, they should have lights on, full stop) But, what about the people I've just described above, riding their bikes on an unlit country road? Ive seen loads of them over the years. And another thing while Im on about it, why is it that the few I have seen with lights on, usually wear bright, reflective jackets too, whereas the other load of tossers wear black or dark clothes? What the hell is all that about?

I wonder how many of them get stopped by the Police and told off or given a fine? Last week I was driving through a town at night in my car (with my lights on!) and I saw, coming the other way, a dark attired, bike riding, lightless moron and overtaking him were two Police men in a car who didnt stop but just carried on.

I wonder what would happen if I had a collision with one of these tossers, would I be to blame, even if I didn't see them? Hmmm, interesting. I may put it to the test!!!!! (only joking, but Im sure you get my point)
